Do I need to have experience in martial arts?

Not at all! Our instructors have experience working with people from their first day, up through advanced levels.

What should I wear?

Make sure you have athletic attire. Please no zippers on clothing, as that can damage the mat. Tight-fitting clothing is best due to the nature of the sport. We recommend a mouth guard, but it is not required.

What is class structure like?

Generally, we'll teach and drill techniques for the first hour of class. For the second hour, students will 'roll' (what we call wrestling, or sparring). This gives everyone an opportunity to practice what they've learned against a resisting opponent. We make sure rolling is done safely and responsibly.

What ages do you work with?

Our coaches work with students from 10 years old and up. Our classes are adult-focused, so we do ask that any younger students carry themselves appropriately and are prepared to be in an adult-centric environment. You're never too old to start!
